  • We have a passionate, well educated, experienced community with many inspiring ideas. It would be wonderful if the administration and council would listen to these ideas and endeavor to work with the citizens on plans before just announcing the outcome of how our tax dollars will be spent.
  • Move the election to 2020! 😉
  • With more young families moving here there is nothing to keep kids busy alway driving into Lethbridge for entertainment for them. And with teens as soon as they get there driver they head to Lethbridge
  • Increased transparency in the town council and senior management is needed. How decisions are made with no consultation, or how certain individuals may play a role in seeing certain town operations have no spending limit need to be accounted for. I'm all for our fire dept having the resources to do their job effectively. But how is it that we went from 1 chief for over 30 years to a new chief, 2 paid deputy chiefs, an admin worker, and paid intern, and lieutenants or captains cover weekends for the chief. On top of that a fire hall that has Doubled in size, new chiefs truck less than 3 years ago, a new pumper, new aerial, etc, etc. I hate to wonder if the fact the chiefs father In law is a town councillor played a role in seeing to many of these upgrades/acquisitions. Just another item to add to the ongoing hidden agendas we hear of from the town.
  • I don’t think it’s fair if they proceed with the civic square, or any of the mentioned projects in our town-to have any of the Town councillors family business do a quote for these projects. It’s seems like a huge conflict of interest, regardless of how council is working their way around it! I already can predict who will be getting all the plumbing work for this very expensive civic square.
  • I’m glad there are people that have the time and the interest to keep the town accountable for what they are doing. So many of us may share those views, but are just managing to go to work, pay our bills and raise our children and don’t have the time, knowledge or ability to get all the info to be active participants in this endeavor. Thank you 😊
  • Would be nice to have more stores in Coaldale so we don’t have to run to Lethbridge for products that we don’t have here. Examples: dollar store,Walmart, etc.Very thankful for Home Hardware!
  • "I have read that the town is planning on building sidewalks and a crosswalk at the East end of cottonwood so pedestrians can have access to 30 th ave to the baseball diamonds. However this is not a high priority and is not scheduled to take place for sons time. I believe this needs to be sped up and be a top priority for the town. I have witnessed numerous times Children trying to cross 20 st at that intersection and it is not safe. I’ve seen several near misses with pedestrian vs vehicle accidents. "
  • In Camera meetings need to stop , Citizens never know whats happing with their Town until it’s to late, Also I don’t remember this town office project being part of anyone’s Platform when trying to get elected , maybe postpone until elections then people will have a chance to decide on the direction of the Town .
  • I feel that the rec centre should be where the new family neighborhoods are, not on the north side of the tracks.
  • There seem to be many things we could use instead of a multi million dollar Rec Center that probably won't be used by all citizens of Coaldale and a new Town Square Center, again, mostly which won't be used by the average citizen of Coaldale, but you can be darn sure we are paying for it in our ever increasing Town Taxes!! Even keeping the streets safe by having up more flashing cross walks would be helpful. The town sent out a request about 4-5 years ago, about how to deal with the intersection by Tim Horton's and McDonalds. Any suggestions we had seemed to get shot down, but they still have done nothing. Not even a good cross walk which is muchly needed with people coming off the highway at atrocious speeds!! I have seen near misses more than I care to count and NOTHING seems to be being done. Town Council is more worried about a new Town square and a Rec Center. Frustrating not being heard!!
  • "Overspending on the firehall is a joke. We are a community not a city. If they needed a new bay for the ladder truck add on to the building. Fashioned after the Lethbridge firehall gee wonder why. There are so many managers that have no experience in the position they are put in. Inexperience in most departments because they have gotten rid of all experienced people. Sad day for our Town!!"
  • This council , mayor, and kalen all need to go. We need real people working for our tax dollars, doing things I want to see and participate in. Thinking of building a school and sports plex accross the highway is insane. Expecting how many kids to cross the highway four times a day???? They obviously do not have school age children to worry about. There are many many things that need to change, and getting rid of this mayor, council, and kalen will be a great start.
  • Coaldale should support family business allowing them to operate w/o large overhead and taxes
  • We need to keep council accountable
  • Lack of council transparency, Informing residents of major projectS after decisions are finalized, excessive municipal spending on nonessentials increased taxes, Very troubling.
  • I believe the civic square is a complete disgrace.
  • I love the small town feel but don’t like the large city taxes. I would rather pay the taxes that I do if there was more for me to enjoy and not pay for all the new buildings that the mayor wants for his own councils benefit.
  • My concern is the eventual cost of high maintenance facilities and who pays for it. I am concerned with the current council and town planners that they do not understand the concept of preparing for a rainy day, just because there is money available does not mean it should be spent. I find this council very frustrating, and now with the pandemic they have absolutely no restraints.
  • I would like a choice of how my tax dollars are spent. I don’t like the way our town council just goes ahead with every project. I’ve lived in Coaldale for over 40 years and have never been so disappointed in its decisions
  • Opposed to question and answer idea with council as I did in fact talk to them at the after the fact consultations and they lied through their teeth telling us the site could still be changed, decisions weren't made etc. Blatant lies by the three councilors I talked to and the mayor. No longer even bother trying.
  • We do not care for the town mayor or most on council.
  • Excited to finally see changes in Coaldale. It needed a change to bring business.
  • Need to support new business including v l t machines
  • Ya got rid of the city police cuz RCMP was cheaper. Taxes didn’t go down so the least you could do is build a safe place for our kids
  • I believe that the town of coaldale council and adm. has lost touch of what the tax payers really want in our town. The CAO is a very controlling and is the main problem, he threatens everyone that goes against his agenda. They want to spend a lot of money in a short period of time, I’m scared we will have to move due to high taxes coming. The new town hall or “civic centre” is just crazy, why doesn’t the citizens get to vote anything this size? We need a change in leadership even the town council is just as ignorant as the CAO and Major it’s disturbing how they can get away with bullying and intimidation toward the citizens of coaldale.
  • I believe better spending habits need to be instilled in to the Town.

  • Why did it take so long for this survey to reach me when our tech savvy staff at town office could have sent it to every taxpayer??
  • Was a previous councillor and am very concerned with the excessive spending and increased debt load they are putting on the residents
  • The lack of transparency from this Council is appalling. They work for the residents of Coaldale, but somewhere along the line this has been forgotten by this Council and they have gone rouge.
  • This survey seems a bit biased. For me living on the Northside of the tracks school or not an overpass is important. For those kids that currently cross the tracks. If building a rec centre or school on the Northside escalates improving safety over the highway, it's a win win. As a taxpayer the idea of an indoor pool is great, but the cost to operate at a loss each year like Taber would only increase our taxes. There are plenty of pools within 15 mins of Coaldale. Ideally it would be great if a big hotel chain came into Coaldale on the East or West end that had an indoor swimming pool accessible to residents. Increased tax dollars for Coaldale with no cost to taxpayers. Then close the outdoor pool and make a second sheet of ice. Just my two bits.
  • I wish to be able to raise concerns to individual Councillors so that s/he may be able to take these to the next level - Council Table.
  • "Site a is the most logical site fir a recreational and high school. An indoor swimming pool costs way more than any revenue it provides. "
  • We used to love Coaldale but with all the crap going on these past few years we aren’t so sure this is the community for our family. Seeing more and more young families move to town and then town does less to entice people to want to live here with young families. If it wasn’t for the kinsmen and kinettes putting up parks, tennis and Pickleball courts up there is nothing for kids to do. Our kids are very active but it is a struggle, ice time is limited and even when it does sit open and empty the town won’t allow the kids to just go scrimmage or even just skate. Seems like such a waste. Many other communities have open skate when the ice is not booked but not Coaldale. They would rather not allow the tax payers to utilize it unless we pay a ridiculous amount of money to rent the ice personally. So frustrating. So instead my kids go stay with their grandparents in Claresholm over Xmas and school breaks so they can spend their days skating and scrimmaging and having fun.
  • I have watched this town grow for many, many years and have never been as disappointed in the decisions of council as I am right now
  • There is no way in Hell the rec center/ new school should be built anywhere near site C . This area is already beyond capacity !!!
  • We’ve gone from “The town that gives a hoot” to a town being run by a wanna-be dictator. CAO NEEDS TO GO!!! The Mayor can take a hike too.
  • Please let us vote on these issues
  • I have serious reservations about how reckless this community spends money.
  • Main Street could use upgrading. Why does this population of 8000 need such a huge fire department? How often do these fire trucks see actual action. Most calls are for medical aid not fire/vehicle incidents. Lethbridge has a fire station that is only 12 minutes from Coaldale! Poor money management in my eyes. If we have RCMP why do we need so many Peace Officers? Again poor money/resource management!
  • "I think something also needs to be done about the amount of taxes we pay here in Coaldale. Our mill rate for taxes are one of the highest in the PROVINCE!!
    This needs to change!"
  • I’m grateful to live in such an amazing town
  • "PLEASE fix ALL of the roads so we can stop needing to buy new tires and repair damage on our vehicles because of the horrible condition of the majority of roads here in coaldale. It would also be nice to have access to highway 3 between the 2 that are there. In order to get across the highway, we have to drive about 1km either way just to get uptown or to Fas Gas. I’m not the only one who feels this way. It’s ludicrous that so many have to drive so far out of the way to get to McDonald’s, Tim Hortons or Fas Gas, which is almost straight across from their houses. If just a few people who complained got speed bumps put on 18th ave, it’s only fair that you listen to the voice of many. "
  • I found this survey lacked some answers I would have liked. For example we had to pick and an order of 1, 2, or 3. I would have liked an option for not building/constructing these projects as I do not see these projects as necessary.
  • Quit spending so much money.
  • I have lived in coaldale almost 50 years .. thiis. Use to a be great town, we need a new town council who listens to the people who elected them . I
  • "Family’s live on the north side of the tracks as well. I grew up on that side of town walked to school pretty much everyday grade one to high school. I can see the reasoning for putting the school and rec center there. And I can see why residences of coaldale feel left out on the decision of location. I want to add that I don’t really care where they build the school I know we do need one though.
  • Land o lakes site eg who is pushing it and are they going to profit immensely from it going there(huge conflict of interest) plus the town would be paying premium price for the land.
  • The quad area site. First question is the land availability for the size of building. If going on the chicken farm land then they will have to conslder buying out the houses to the south as once you start building up the land (which will have to be bought which some has already) the residences to the south will have flooding problem and the town will have to fork out millions to buy up those houses. "
  • The only project I think is ridiculous is the 10,000 sq. foot, 10,000,000 million dollar town office. I live on 22nd ave and this street is in serious need of repaving. Also there needs to be a better traffic control system on land o'lakes drive between the Tim's and McDonald's and also the intersection going to Main street by Ming's. A town of 8,000 doesn't need an expensive town office. You need to seriously consider intersection updates and repaving some streets.
  • I do not agree with new town office ,I do find the people there very unfriendly and after asking why are flags were not at half for 911, the respond I got was awful and then I was asked if I pay taxes and if I live here ! I was told it wasn’t in the flag budget and it was no different than a plane crash !!! Very disappointed in our town and the answer I got !
  • I do think that the Town management need to slow down a bit with their bullish decisions. Making major financial decisions that make no sense seems very reckless. I expect that another of financial decisions are made daily, but when it comes to such a huge amount of money, I think the citizens of Coaldale should be consulted, and listened to.
  • Needs more recreational places
  • This survey is written in a very bias manner. It influences people to select certain responses based on bias information in the questions or lack of opportunity to add additional information. Am I happy with site A? No. Is there land available to fit both the school and rec Center available and ready to go somewhere else? It’s more than where I want it. Where is it possible? This was not presented.
  • The Town has made many very good decisions, over the past few years! Good job.
  • We were give. The opportunity to speak regarding the public participation question. You can’t just have yes or no or so t know answers
  • Having 2 kiddos that would potentially be attending the new school, I don’t agree with how the new grade structures would go. I feel the middle school would suffer dropping they Grade 8 class there would potentially be less options for the kids to take. I also don’t agree with spending millions on building a recreation site that everyone would have to cross the tracks to get to. It is accident waiting to happen. It will take someone getting killed for the two to realize their stupid decision. The mass of the population is on the south side of the tracks!
  • I'm surprised the community wasn't involved in the decision for the school/recreation site. Site A appears to be a nice place to build, however it is NOT a safe or practical site. First of all we're talking about a highway and train track crossing. In the event of an emergency if a train is blocking the way for an ambulance, fire, police, it can potentially reduce critical time in a life threatening situation. Secondly, the majority of the population is on the south side of the tracks. Why put children in potential jeopardy with a highway and train track crossing and why throw millions of dollars for an overpass when that money could be used to purchase property on the safe side of the highway? 5 million dollars can purchase property for a new school / recreation centre. The majority of the population is on the south side of the highway. It only makes sense to abandon the site A site and look for a more reasonable site. 5 million dollars can be better spent elsewhere or simply not spent.
  • Does the Mayor's ass get jealous from the bullshit that comes out of his mouth?
  • The question regarding spending approximately 5mill of provincial money I answered neutrally. The problem is if site a is chosen this money MUST be spent to make access functional. I would of course rather it be spent on the facility itself, but only if it where south of the tracks/hwy
  • Not impressed with Coaldale. Spending tax payers money for a new town hall when there are more important things these town needs. Make the town more family oriented. See the things we need, second sheet of ice, better swimming pool, fix up the older parts of town ( the roads, underground utilities), stop making the town look pretty and make it more for the citizens and not for the town office people.
  • I know this is not entirely (or at even at all) the towns decision, but I don’t feel the proposed new school should be a grade 7-12 school. Coaldale starts to lose that ‘small town advantage’ once we have a school with a student population of 1000 students. People move to small towns so their children can attend small schools.
  • Need me paths and useable parks
  • It makes NO SENSE to build a recreation Center across highway!!!!!!! Or a new school ....it is a mosquito infested swamp over there! Put our tax money to better use....don’t just pave the Main Street so people will come....repave the neighborhood roads so people will buy a house and stay ....ROADS AND SIDEWALKS ARE HORRILE IN THIS TOWN !
  • "The school is to be for grade 7-12. I crossed the highway everyday walking to school when I was in elementary. I would hope that the town would put in extra safety precautions (even though they currently don’t for the kids who already walk). I understand that the Majority of the population live on the south end but Coaldale is growing and soon there will be a new residential division on the north end as well according to zoning.
  • "I think large projects should have public input prior to town councils decisions. I feel a pedestrian crossing just like the one by the Shell station would suffice, over building an overpass. Students, and citizens in general who live on the North side of the tracks have been crossing the hiway for years without issue, I'm not sure why people think that crossing from South to North would be any less safe.... so no overpass is needed."
  • Would love to see more facilities, business built and attracted to Coaldale, with public input, to help us truly support our local community.
  • I don’t really Care where the rec centre will be. I love north of the tracks and it would be convenient at site A but I am also used to crossing the highway with my small children. I just want a rev centre regardless of where in town it is. In most towns people have to cross the highway to get to amenities.
  • We love coaldale cuz its a small town feel. Close to the city and seams just the right location for pretty much all we need.
  • "I appreciate your leadership regardless of your affiliate or motivation. Our Town Council needs to be held accountable.
  • We need a new arena (second sheet) and this continuously gets pushed back. Our local minor hockey association has run out of ice. We need a town council that has vision and a true feel for this community. My child has access to the arena for 1 hour a week , sharing a sheet of ice with two their teams. So he gets a 1/3 of the ice for one hour a week. The arena was built when this town’s population was 2700 people!
  • Build the school where the children live, crossing the highway to save a few bucks on a land purchase is so short sighted.
  • The Corona Virus has created a lot of harm in the short term. The re-start of our economy will produce many infrastructure projects. Coaldale needs to maximize this opportunity.
  • Pls IF u build a New recretional Building dont pass IT ON our tax.or dont increase our property tax.and please Not in side A.go for
  • No property tax increase.side B is the place location.
  • As in one of my answers below , I'd like to see Coaldale take better care of our streets, backalleys, lighting and side walks in the older areas, we pay high taxes and feel left out.
  • Property taxes are very high. More stores would be nice. Roads need more maintenance.
  • It is not within the jurisdiction of the town to determine where a new school will be constructed, that determination lies solely with either Holy Spirit or Palliser school divisions. The proposed site A school site will easily double if not triple student transportation costs for school divisions operating within the municipality of Coaldale, costs which already run into the millions yearly and the town has no right to impose additional costs that will inevitably be passed down to residents in one way or another.
  • "It would be nice to have a new or larger skate/bike park built so that those who enjoy being outdoors and biking don't have to travel to Lethbridge to do this. A good size bike park with a variety of levels to encourage different age and skill levels can keep kids busy for hours a day.
  • The drama around Site A is rather ridiculous considering that it will be a High School. If a high school student is incapable of crossing the highway, that has proper lights for this then maybe they shouldn't be allow in high school, and definitely shouldn't be allow to get their learners permit. What do you think the kids in Lethbridge or Calgary or Edmonton or any city have to do?? This is futher ridiculous since high school doesn't start until Grade 10 here. Someone in Grade 10 is about 15-16 years old. In Alberta you can begin learning to drive a vehicle when you are 14 ... but you can't cross a road?
  • A someone who has moved here from Ontario let me say that I pay double the amount for my property taxes here and see nothing for this. In Ontario my garage/recycling was included in my taxes, I didn't have to pay extra for this. This included bulk pickup, where you made a phone call and they came to pick up your large items. Our roads were far better maintain and we have regular, consistently clean and cleared roads during the winter. A lot of money went into road and snow clearing, but yet my taxes were half of here. None of this happens here and I'm paying double!! Honestly, if it weren't for our church community/school being here we likely would have picked another place to live with less taxes."
  • I have noticed that there is minimal transparency with the town and it's people. Major decisions like a rec or allowing a business to move in without the citizens acknowledgment or say is unprofessional and quite ignorant. There is no reason to not be transparent, it's the key to having a trusting relationship.
  • I’m just wondering why there wouldn’t need to be an overpass if the facility was built on the south side? The students from the birds of prey area have been crossing that intersection will no seen concern by the concerned citizens of Coaldale but now when the south side kids have to cross there’s concern. These are high school students and there is good access from the downtown and highway 3. We elect council to make these decisions we don’t need public inquiries on projects that the council has been elected to decide. That is wasting taxpayers money
  • I am beyond disappointed that the town decided to rip up the paved road south of the Christian Reform school and make it into a gravel road. It has created dust, road noise and took away a place for us to bike and walk. It seems like is was a very foolish thing to spend money on since the pavement wasn’t even in bad shape....there are many streets in coaldale that are in worse shape and not even being repaired but the town decided to spend money to rip up a paved road. It makes no sense and doesn’t seem fiscally responsible at all. A new school and Rec center in the north side of town also makes zero sense when the population is on the south side; the safety aspect alone should be enough to keep it on the south side. There is no need to create and spend money on a round about or pedestrian overpass when those amenities should be on the south side of the highway where everything else is. I’m very disappointed in the leadership and decisions that are being made right now.
  • Put up another set of lights on highway
  • Live in Parkside area. Didn’t see that as an option.
  • It has been great in the past, now money seems no object the more is spend the happier town council seems
  • Would be nice to have a page like I love Coaldale where members could post photographs and cheers (all positive). Check out I love Morgan Hill for a sample.
  • It’s very important to have something in this town for our teen youth do do to keep them out of trouble.
  • I believe there were quite a few public engagements for the above projects. Maybe you should’ve attended a few of them
  • If they are going to do a new Rec Center and school it needs to have more ice and a swimming pool. Otherwise what’s the point? When I grew up (different City) they knocked down our jr high and rebuilt a new one in the summer. It was easily done. So if they are after a new school they should just do that. Otherwise go the whole way with a pool etc that can earn revenue for the town and bring in tourism/stimulate our little economy.
  • "The Town of Coaldale is actually quite well run. I work in a different Southern Alberta community and can tell you that they spend just as much (or more) money on their administration. That is what they get paid. But my work community also has some very difficult decisions to make about staffing. They are already in the top 3 highest spenders in municipalities their size. They likely will have to deal with their personnel issues. Coaldale, I suspect, already has. That is why there are some monies to consider capital projects. Have we noticed a significant deterioration of services provided or quality of services provided, since the supposed toxic environment created by our Town administration? Finally, I am not in anyway well connected in Coaldale, but I knew about plans for a new Town building when the Barons Eureka building was torn down. That is like over 3 years ago. I heard first hand of the current plan last November when my barber told me that he was being displaced from his rental suite. I find it impossible to believe that others (particularly those that sat on Council previously) would not have known about the concept for years. Also, ANY land deal (or decisions made based on land deals) is automatically held in-camera. This is Council/Municipal Administration 101 type stuff. Again, anyone that has sat on Council should know this stuff. Why are they beating a drum that Council is not transparent? That strikes me as a lack of transparency or downright deceitful."
  • I dont agree with town hall the rec center is a good idea but I get the feeling this is a bunch of cottonwood people who think they are better than everyone. They made a rink in cottonwood they made a new park .east side of coaldale dosnt have much
  • I wish that there was better control of the speed of the traffic especially on the 845 north going out of town. The semi trucks and even regular vehicles speed all the time and nothing is done about this....even calling and complaining falls on deaf ears. As well as the number of people that walk their dogs off leash. Again calling and complaining to the bylaw is not very effective. Coaldale needs to rectify this issue.
  • There should be Town Hall meetings for every major project the town does. And there needs to be times at night as most people work.
  • I think a indoor pool / rec centre would be so amazing for coaldale
  • I would like to have said yes I’ll go to question and answer. But this council does what it wants no matter what the public says. So no point.
  • I think I covered it above. I plan on being in Coaldale with my family for years - if your not part of the solution well then your just making the problem bigger. You clearly have a narrative or you would have shared all the information and interpretation there-of. Not just talking about this article - your comments on the news about the pool, budget interpretation of capital spending etc. You spin it to get your own point across. Its something many people do, however if your going to be a public voice that says its holding the existing public figures in check - be completely transparent yourselves. When you don' t do that - you lose those that notice.
  • Taxes are already way too high.
  • give eberybody that lives here an opinion. This has not been done.
  • Amenities for the most part are all right there. I do strongly believe that the current facilities in place are in desperate need for an upgrade. Why wouldn’t the town look at a multi use facility like most communities are going to which include all services (ice rinks, indoor swimming, gym facilities etc.). There is no doubt a second sheet of ice needs to be added.
  • I currently work in Coaldale, and am looking to move from Lethbridge to Coaldale. I attended several meetings about the new school and attached facility, and so I am confused about the no consultation comments. Additionally, fixes to the highway, including overpasses, seem like great things for Coaldale. Why the opposition?
  • I feel the town is neglecting seniors, youth and service groups. They are proposing a rec centre that may satisfy the needs of those groups that have the financial resources. Seniors would likely not have the financial resources as much of the youth. Guides and scouts, as an example, do not have the resources to pay the level of rent typically charged by the town. If these facilities were provided free they maybe addressing a real need.
  • We need more childcare that's affordable
  • Coaldale is really a suburb of Lethbridge, so if there are amenities Coaldale doesn’t offer its easy to get them. Keep Coaldale the way it is, we don’t want to become another tax burdened small town. The town council must remember that they are employees of the tax payer and supposed to represent the tax payer’s interests not their own or that of the CAO. As well they must remember that they are the employer of the CAO, not the other way around. It is time that council listens to the tax players.
  • Even this survey is misleading. It makes statements that are not true and mislead the public. Please urge everyone including yourself to be honest and transparent. Do not worry about an election or getting votes. If you truly care for Coaldale you could stand with council and work with them in a positive manner rather than this arm chair quarterbacking. I am so excited that we are building coaldale from a small town into a self supporting small city!
  • It would have been nice to see a survey that was not so obviously slanted one way!
  • I am agaist the Mutli purpose facility at this point in time. I do not think the town needs this item and think that it is frivolous. With the high school no longer slated for development, at this point in time, I feel that anything surrounding the multi purpose facility should be put on hold!!! More money should be spent on attracting business to the town of Coaldale. Once we have more business, and the income garnered from taxes, the we can talk about adding these types of amenities. I feel like the multi purpose facility is akin to putting icing on a cake before the cake is even made.
  • A online meeting on facebook isn't fair as not everyone has a facebook account. Town council has to listen and divulge what each project cost will add to our taxes or what added bylaw cost the council will add to our taxes. This council needs to stop doing whatever they want and ask the people through votes what we are willing to back. Stop wanting to leave a huge debt for the people to pay because you want a legacy. Stop doing what you want and ask the people who will be left with the debt. Put all items on one or 2 ballots. Stop listening to your egos and start listening and asking what the people want.
  • Very frustrated with this town!! The property taxes are insane for what is here and they’re only going to go up. We are looking to move out of Coaldale!
  • I have lost trust and confidence in our mayor and town council.
  • Fixing Sewer systems showing some love to the older parts of town
  • Why not build it where ice rink, curling rink and community center are now if at all.
  • I don't believe that Facebook is a good way to have a meeting with the Mayor and town council as not everybody is on Facebook
  • I believe the town would benefit a ton with a turning light signal at the intersection of highway 3 and the 845.
  • We need a new laundrmat.
  • Quit spending money we dont have!
  • The town is planning on future residential development to the northwest, so a school and rec center makes sense there. If hwy 3 is reduced to 50km, there is no need for a ped overpass. A simple crosswalk would suffice. They are used worldwide as a safe means of crossing a 4 lane road.
  • If the rec centre is building section A I would like to see a walking overpass across the highway and train tracks
  • "Traffic circles are not conducive to pedestrian traffic. Theres not enough room at 845 and 3 for a circle. Plus the trains would really mess up traffic in all directions with a circle. Due to the poor design of 845 and 3 intersection with tracks and other side streets all in one spot, a pedestrian bridge makes complete sense.
A new town office is ridiculous. "
  • Very disappointed that local government has the audacity to make major development plans without any input from the citizens at large .
  • I feel the taxes are too high and the town is spending far too much. This will rise our taxes.
  • Thank you for creating this survey so that coaldale residents can feel our concerns are heard. However I noticed that some of the dollar amounts described in this survey are inaccurate. For example the multi use rec facility is budgeted *at most* at $10 million (not *at least* 10 million). Some information has also been withheld, which doesn't portray the whole story. Withholding information also doesn't help tax payers inform themselves objectively and create their own opinions. For example, the info about the pros and cons for each site was not included. By staging a survey this way, the respondent is lead towards the point of view of the writer (by means of the writer's biases, rather than letting the respondent objectively inform their own opinion). I did certainly appreciate this survey and the work that went into it but these small changes I feel would have validated the survey more. I felt the tone and language used in the survey was inflammatory (you could tell whoever wrote it was angry) and I feel it and the opinions of Coaldalians would stand a better chance of consideration by the town if a more objective, and professional approach were used. Overall thank you for what you do!
  • "I would be open to an online Q n A. Had the old egg farm area been proposed?? We need to be proud of what we have. An amazing pool with ice arena, climbing wall, gym, bowling alley would bring in great revenue. No chlorine. Salt water pools with accessories, ie slide, diving board, and rope swing. Coaldale is growing and Coaldaleans deserve something majestic. You have to go big to win or else you will lose big. If we were to get a mediocre facility we would still continue to drive to a better facility. We will absolutely not support something that is thrown at the community half heartedly."
  • No one fussed over my son being hit and run by a semi truck...having to cross highway years...it was ok for him it's ok for everyone else's kid to cross to north.
  • Many people have stated, we wanted another ice surface and new pool, preferably close to where most residents live. Town management skillfully massaged that into a glorified gymnasium to attract funding for a new high school at a location recommended against by professional planners! As for high school students crossing the tracks? Yes it is concerning as is the traffic congestion. BUT!!!!!!, the new school will start with younger kids at grade 7. Plus we want the recreation centre to be used by even younger children too, how will they cross the dangerous highway 3 & CP Rail corridor? How rediculous. What about school bussing? There isn't enough bussing now. The demand will likely increase five times with a new northside high school! How are new elementary age children living in expanded northwest Coaldale supposed to get to Jenny Emery and R.I. Baker? Also, why is a new town office such a priority over a pool or ice surface. Why didn't the town ask us residents first? Why is the town borrowing so much money? When many of us are losing our jobs, the town is putting us into debt, for projects we don't want!!!! Guess what? By December 2021, there will be a completely new council and administration and we will be left with a big mess. They are going to spend your tax dollars on needless overpasses, underpasses, traffic circles, new town office, massive fire hall (bigger than many cities), new corridor crossings but we still have horrible streets, an oversubscribed arena, poorly lit streets, an old run down pool and an endless number severance packages for the parade of forced town employee terminations. Town management = spend, spend spend. Our day of reckoning is coming. Wake up people! Town Council and admin staff don't care what you want, they never have. Have they every asked us? Its all about them and their young inexperienced management team that overrules professional planners and public input. Don't even get me started on how poorly they have treated our town employees, many of them our neighbors. Time for an investigation, time for a change. It can't come soon enough. Town Council should be ashamed how they have treated us, and let this happen.
  • Young families and children need places to go and have recreational activities. Exercise is important for both physical and mental health, the town should consider this as important over unneccessary buildings and paths.
  • I think our money should not be spent freely..the elected people should not be able to do with the tax dollars.also you never see a RCMP AROUND IN Town or the lovely by law .what a total disgrace of people running our town
  • Please have a referendum vote
  • I don't like the method used by town council and the CAO to make decisions for the citizens for projects with high price tags, especially during a down turn where people are without jobs and we know taxes are going up - $120 last year for their rec centre is a point in fact. Why meet with council? They hold sessions and then don't answer our questions. They gather in a little huddle and avoid the questions. I agree a good time to invest is when you can create jobs and invest at great rates, but only after true consultation has taken place. There are many seniors in Coaldale on fixed incomes and they can't afford increased taxes. Town council are playing fast and loose with our money. It's not theirs, it is ours and we demand accountability and transparency. And regarding transparency, where is the sunshine list for employees at the Town. We need transparency and comparisons on how much the CAO is paid, with our tax dollars for a town of 8700 people! He makes as much as presidents of major organizations which is disgusting.
  • Time to get rid of the good old boys club and put traffic signs in sensible places and not stop traffic on a street to give right of way to cars coming out of the Quads.
  • It's about time Coaldale is spending money on facilities. For years Coaldale had nothing. Spending my tax dollars on something worth while is very welcomed.
  • I feel like the town council isn't taking the opportunity the turn the old Ventura building onto the new town center, yet it displaces other who already have their business forcing them to move their businesses out of town.
  • I'm very disappointed that our roads and sidewalks are not being maintained even though we pay quite a lot in taxes. I think our town council are needing to be replaced, how dare they force us to pay taxes for buildings we had no say in at all.
  • I think the new town office is not needed they could Reno the current one and use existing rcmp building for a fraction of cost
  • This was the most biased survey I have ever competed. Wording the questions in a way that gets the answer you want leads to inaccurate results. I’m all for making coaldale as great as possible and holding town politics accountable, but let’s go about it a better way. Also, there were a ton of opportunities to seek it info and add suggestions to the rec centre, location being part of that discussion.
  • I’ve seen on Facebook a lot of times that no one had any input into the sites for the multi-use facility and the possible new high school. Sorry to say, but this is crap. I went to at least 2, possibly 3 meetings on locations and why the options were what they were. I find it disgusting how people don’t care to pay attention and show up when meetings were publicized, but then bitch and whine about it on social media after. Giant eye roll. There were opportunities for public engagement- I participated in them. Same for sessions about the outdoor pool. There were about 60 people that made time to attend the meetings when they were offered. 60 out of over 8000. Way too many people are too lazy to make time to go to meetings but have no issue complaining about it after. In my opinion, if you don’t engage when you have the opportunity, then you’ve also lost the right to complain. It’s like not voting and then complaining about the government. I truly hope this group is serious about the work and not just the complaining.
  • In that vein, council should be focused on bringing Main Street businesses to town and focusing on the ones that are here and supporting them. Also a school on the south side where 90 percent of the students are
  • I think our Ceo should be transparent and letting us know why he deserves such a huge salary. I think it is ridiculous what he gets paid.
  • "I would like to see more Policing - the 845 is a free for all with the racing and stunting. ALSO, too much off-roading within town - my alley. It would be nice (and appreciated) if the staff at the Town Hall were courteous to all, and HELPFUL. It doesn't matter how kind you are, when you call in you either get the run around and told I DONT KNOW, or curtly denied your inquiry. Almost every time I have been inside I have witnessed snarky behaviour by staff dealing with calls from the public and gossiping about them upon ending call. * THEY NEED TO BE REMINDED THEY ARE CIVIL SERVANTS * and maybe it is time to ""restructure"" as govt likes to do by laying off and rehiring others. "
  • I believe that we need a new high school. Where it goes should not matter as I feel high school students should be responsible enough to know how to properly cross a highway. I used to travel to school from the north side of the highway! There is residential areas on both sides of the highway and it would be nice to see coaldale grow north as well
  • In these times no need to overspend lets save and then be able to do more later.
  • Feeling that as far as families moving to Coaldale we need to enhance our facilities. If you live here with kids, you spend your time running them to Lethbridge for activities.
  • Feeling that as far as families moving to Coaldale we need to enhance our facilities. If you live here with kids, you spend your time running them to Lethbridge for activities.
  • Counsel definitely needs to listen to the citizens, not some dreamer who thinks the town is full of multimillionares.
  • Clearly this survey is set up to try and turn down the towns decision on rec Center and town square. I feel development in all areas of coaldale is necessary. We can not restrict development in any area or district. Children have been crossing the tracks for many years and accidents have been minimal. My suggestions is people need to quit bitching and be happy Coaldale has some capital projects happening in the future. These projects will bring more spending and money to the town. This will help local grocery stores, hardware stores and the list goes on. So in closing be Happy we live in a great town.
  • I suggest building any project where you want and where it makes sense. It’s ridiculous to hear parents try to place a higher value on their child’s lives because of what side of the tracks they live on. Crossing a road is not a new concept. Building these buildings will bring some revenue to our amazing town and create jobs too. Keep up the good work!
  • your survey was heavily slanted
  • Move the election to 2020! 😉
  • There are always personal preferences for how to do things (rec-center, multi-use facility office etc..). I think it’s important to keep recognizing how lucky we are to even be part of a town that is taking action on these projects - even if they are different then our preferences. They facilities will be used no matter their location or if citizens were directly included in discussion. So far I see a council that are making wise decisions project-wise. The current site for the rec center and school are not 100% ideal, but if the proper precautions are in place, safety will not be a concern - I really believe the town is doing their best to make decisions for the best interest of the citizens. In the end I trust their judgement-even if it’s different then my ideas, I’m sure there’s legitimate reasoning for their decisions.
  • This is a public burning event even though there information sessions were held with explanations for the decision. There was plenty of opportunity to voice concerns there. Land had been annexed north of the highway for new residential as the town is growing. Coaldale is going to build north. Not just this once.
  • Missing the parades and other fun activities like arts and culture. Day camps for children.
  • "Shovels have already been in the ground for the new town office etc. Too late to stop it. There is not enough people interested in town politics etc to make a difference. From your article in the sunny south news there is no friendliness from the town, the cao, the town council or anyone involved in the decision making regarding these projects. Good luck because everything is done. No turning back by the town of coaldale. How can you talk to the town when they are not interested in anything you have to say?"
  • The citizens need to make these decisions. We pay the taxes and the are high.
  • I would like to see better walking trails. There are little trails connecting green spaces, but if I try to walk 5km for exercise I'm mostly in residential areas. I know they are building the trail to Lethbridge but I'm not sure I will feel safe to do that all by myself.
  • I think that if you truly love coaldale you will change this survey to reduce the incredible amount of bias in these questions. We all want coaldale to be amazing but have different opinions on getting there. By utilizing misleading and bias questions, you are essentially leading respondents down the path that the survey wants them to take rather than what is an honest response. If this is for coaldale and not a personal agenda, I plead with you to fix this survey so we can accurately represent the towns people.
  • Stop spending so much money! Fix the old 7-11 location and streets/sidewalks around town
  • "I am opposed to the high school on the north side of Coaldale and absolutely will not send my girls there! I will drive them into Lethbridge daily.
  • Also my business will be opening in Lethbridge, as I can't be bothered with the town and all of the nonesense they pull.
  • It's so unfortunate how Coaldale's reputation has gone from being this amazing little jewel to now being considered a dying town. "
  • We moved here a year ago and the one thing we all agree is missing is an indoor swimming pool and activity center. Having to drive into lethbridge is a pain in the winter and I would rather spend my hard earned money in my direct community where it has the most impact on my family.
  • "What are the break down pay annual pay rates of council? Is there a correlation to the amount of property taxes we pay and services we receive?"
  • Hwy 3 bypass would solve a lot of traffic issues in town
  • Property taxes are so high and there is not a lot to show for it. Playgrounds are built by Kin Clubs ... so where is all our money?
  • I wish we would’ve either been told here is the site or you can have input to the site. It’s not cool it was decided and they pretended to get feedback
  • Would be nice to have buses or other forms of transportation for youth to go to Lethbrige for classes, entertainment, shopping or whatever
  • They seriously need to stop going ahead with the expensive town square it’s a joke for a town this size. That money could be used for so many other practical things for the town of Coaldale.
  • "A new town council building will raise our taxes every year. How, when and where as a tax payer of this town with children will I get 10 million dollars of use out of something like this??
  • Can my kids go and shoot hoops or toss a football in this useless 10 million dollar building we don’t need.
  • We need to invest in our children’s education/ extra curricular activities. "
  • "I'm all for updating main street, with supporting our small businesses. I do not like the idea nor the look of this multi million dollar town office facility. It does not match the old town feel of the rest of the buildings. You can build a nice looking building with the needed square footage and working layout without making it look like this full glass, over modern for our town, showy cathedral that has been designed, and without spending that many millions of dollars - doesn't matter where they say the money is coming from, it's still wasteful. As for the rec centre - again, that's a lot of money to be spending on a want not need, especially in a location that is not ideal. The ripple effects of this building, and its location, is adding up fast. Put in another ice surface, update the outdoor pool which should have had a better maintenance fund available (as most of us people know things wear out and need updating), build a new school on the land where KA is now located and knock down the old building. (A new building is also not going to keep, nor bring in, more students). Again, you can build a nice looking, fully functional building without spending excessively. Maybe look at the cost of an indoor pool, but as nice as that would be, if it is hard to recover the costs then it's probably not the right decision for your citizens. With the new facility that they are going with, it's already costing each household $200/year with no end date published that I can find, and then they'll still charge us to use the facility. We are essentially a bedroom community to Lethbridge, let them spend the money on these fancy facilities, that while nice, are costing us taxpayers (with high taxes already) too much money. Fix our roads, revitalize downtown responsibly, set up a maintenance account for our publicly owned buildings, and stop spending money like it grows on trees. It looks, and is, very irresponsible and also makes our council look like they are completely out of touch with us ""common"" folks who are just trying to make an honest living, pay our bills, and raise our children to be hardworking, friendly citizens, in a town that can stay ""the gem of the west"" if this current council doesn't spend us out of house and home."
  • Lower property taxes and attract more people to build out here - that will grow the tax base and allow for more improvements in the future!
  • I think Kim Craig needs to be held accountable and council.
  • Would like more information in survey on cost of each site to build. Good info to know about no rink or pool (wasnt aware) Building infastructure to join north and south of town i see as a good thing.
  • The town really needs to listen to the people and not the kinsmen and kinettes who only stand to serve those who are members.
  • I pay roughly 8000.00 in property tax. It concerns me that we have so few amenities but mostly I’m concerned with the lack of input I get for those dollars
  • I am not liking how King Kalen and mayor and council are spending money like there is no end. Taxed to the breaking point already. They all need to be replaced. This is a small town, not a big city
  • I believe that the town expanding north is inevitable. We should deal with traffic concerns now rather than postponing. Even if the school/rec centre is built South of the highway other businesses and homes will be built in the North. A pedestrian overpass would be an ideal solution that would make crossing the highway safer.
  • Not impress with the spending of tax payers money.
  • I’m ticked at the decision to upgrade the existing outdoor pool at that cost knowing it will only last a number more years. The poop can only be used like two months of the year. Pointless. An indoor pool would be used so much more!
  • property taxes seem very high
  • We elected council members who should be reaching out to the people who elected them to hear our opinions and not just representing their own desires.
  • I believe the town of coaldale has the best interest of the town. They are aware of possible safety issues and have addressed them. I feel it is currently redicicus and unsafe dropping my kids off now at RI Baker and JEES with how much traffic there is in the mornings. Therefore, I pay for the bus every year to a more ensure safe arrival to and from school.
  • Stop spending and lower our taxes
  • I truly wish that Citizens of Coaldale group would at least try to be bipartisan. You have made up your minds about current council and management and are truly dividing the citizens of the town. Stop worrying about how to get your guy elected in the next election and start thinking about how we can support our current government the best way possible. In order to get production rolling on the citizens concerns, would it not be better to do so by building eachother up instead of ripping down everything that council decides?
  • I live in Garden Grove and already have seen increased noise from the new pathway, and do not wish to have more.
  • "I would like to know why a new town office is being built. I worked for the Town of Coaldale years ago and there is nothing wrong with the facility they are currently housed in. I have heard rumours about the air quality at the existing site, but the results of extensive testing should be made public as I don't believe the testing indicated there was a problem.
  • The Town needs to keep up and maintain and we have been growing for many years. However, especially in these times, decisions should be made in a fiscally responsible manner."
  • Time to expand north of hwy 3. Our children crossed the hiway for 7 years with no issues and it would be okay for the children to cross from the south side I promise 👍
  • This town council has made two bad decisions; the high school location and building a town office without public input. They are working for us the taxpayer. They should not be able to decide anything until it's approved by a majority vote.
  • I feel the town needs more stuff for the youth to do. Also needs more businesses ie 24 hour convenience store ie 7-11
  • Thought the survey would talk more about the civic building. Very opposed to the civic building. As it is a lot of citizens money that's going into it and unsure why we need a new town office?
  • A new town office is NOT needed. I worked at the town office for several years. The taxpayers spent a lot of money to have air quality and soil testing in order to prove that the office was safe to work in. We had enough space before the RCMP moved in, we still had enough space with the RCMP there and now the RCMP is moving out. There is NO NEED for a new office. Reckless spending of taxpayer money - AND WE WON'T EVEN OWN THE BUILDING - WE WOULD BE LEASING IT!
  • I would like to see town council get behind the birds of prey instead of treating them so poorly. What an embarrassment our town council and administration has become. Because they ignore the wants and needs of what people want, everything the the town touches turns into conflict of some kind. If something isn’t done soon they will ruin our future. Escalating debt now, tax increases to follow.
  • This town council has shown time and time again that they don't care what the residents of coaldale think, they only take their own opinions into count. We need a new town council, one that will work for the residents of coaldale.
  • I feel Coaldale would benefit from a recreation centre similar to the corn van ray ymca. This would also draw more families to our community and bring in revenues. Maybe we can renovate the arena to include a second rink ( demolish the failing outdoor pool) and include the curling rink in the renovation . We could potentially have two great facilities. I am ok with the High School location as long as proper safety precautions are put in place to keep our future generations safe.
  • At this time I don’t think any of these capital projects are worth spending money on if it makes our taxes rise. We spend a lot on property taxes already.
  • The questions posed in this survey are VERY biased, and therefore render this an inaccurate survey. It appears you are just trying to rally troops to whine with you. You do realize that every child north of the tracks has to cross for school daily... why not provide a north option and the south side kids can go elsewhere if the highway is too dangerous for them. It's a high school. Not a kindergarten.
  • The plan to spend this amount of money, at this very trying time for a lot of families, is irresponsible. There are projects that need to be done, ie the roads, but to plan multi million dollar projects, and not even be completely transparent and open about them, with the citizens of Coaldale, is not only irresponsible, but highly insulting as well, and is showing just how untrustworthy this counsel is. Ask what the citizens of Coaldale want, and listen to what is being said.
  • Town council needs to better listen to input on certain issues and run the town like an actual business instead of the piss poor way it is being run now. How many lucrative business have to be run out of town/not allowed licenses all of which equate to tax revenue and spending before the citizens revolt
  • If any council makes unilateral decisions for their own benefit that council needs to be audited and held accountable for their actions.
  • Great to see citizen's get involved
  • I would like to see that ANY major expenditure go to plebiscite so that the citizens have a vote in where their hard earned tax dollars are spent. As well, this would give an opportunity for more people to hear the pros and cons of each project.
  • A concern I have is how we are addressing the impact of homelessness and increased crime in our community.
  • Start thinking about the children and the future of the residents , we have enough playgrounds thanx to the kinsmen let's start giving back to the town with stuff that is needed not a building we wont own
  • I am a little disappointed that so many citizens are so opposed to the proposed location A. We need to think in the future and not dwell on the past. Would rather see a school and Coaldale expand than a weed patch in location. It is a beautiful area but once again I believe most of the opposition to this area is due to selfish reasons rather than putting community first. People whine way too much in my opinion. Pedestrian overpass would have been great for safety issues years ago, when i grew up on the north side of rail track & highway and all the schools were on the other side. 😭 😉
  • Make walking path by the canal on the south side.
  • Lift the bylaw on marajuana so the town can generate more business!!
  • "Why was an open house given when the decision was already made about the school and rec center. Just a waste of people’s time! Plus expense to have drawings of all the maps for the public to see. They are not free. Why is the Town going to offer rental space in the new office and compete with other tax payers or is the town renting the building from some one that we don’t know about? " Get the Vlts back up and running!
  • No comment at this time
  • I do not support a new school or recreation center period. Let’s discuss why council wants either one.
  • There are lots of people living on the North side now,and crossing the highway has not been a problem. There are traffic lights, and school buses.
  • Council must stop deciding crucial decisions without public consultation. They are now pushing forward all these projects before the next elections why? They are borrowing money at a very concerning rate, where are the funds coming from to pay back the loans. What is the plan, oh sorry I forgot this council decides what the residents of Coaldale need rather than having public consultation.
  • Projects need to be where the majority of the people live for easy access and where it is the most appealing. AND where the citizens want it!
  • I would like to know why council is so set on the spot north of the tracks. It was my understanding that a school was going to be built near the Cottonwood area.
  • We should have been listened to when we were questioned publically about all of this. The mayor and council should have listened and addressed our concerns and been more open and honest with us and not mislead us with costs.
  • Seems to be an awful lot of opinionated people commenting within this group. When push comes to shove I would be willing to bet that most wouldnt have the intestinal fortitude to attend the meeting that is being brought up in this survey, and I would almost gaurantee the keyboard warriors that demand things be their way would not be willing to put their name forward to run for council.
  • The current plans, especially for the new town office, seem off base and inappropriate for the community. Once the RCMP have moved out, a smaller building as the one suggested should be presented to the citizens for approval
  • It would have been nice to have the estimated costs to purchase the 3 different locations because that could be a strong deciding factor , as would the cost of the infrastructure to service the various sites
  • Would council consider an public meeting held outdoors for safe distancing for questions we as tax payers have about the new town hall??
  • I believe it's in the best interest to fact check with other municipalities about the investment of an indoor pool. They operate at a loss and generate no revenue. We do not have big corporations to soak up those operating costs therefore those costs will be passed onto residential property owners. Even cities operate at a loss for these types of facilities. If you even compare to towns of similar population sizes such as Taber, they have Walmart, Co-op, Roger's Sugar, Frito Lay, hotels, restaurants, etc that Coaldale doesn't. The taxes are already high enough, we truly cannot afford more. As for locations of the recreational facility, consultants were hired to assess and run financial numbers and such. To have the general population with no background and no knowledge about the risks involved to vote on decisions that will have huge financial implications down the road is high risk. Should the town consult with tax payers? 100% should they lay out all the findings so people can be informed? Absolutely. However, we need to ensure that people are well informed from all perspectives and are not out for personal gain on the backs of tax payers for something like an indoor pool. If people truly would like to build one, look towards having it sponsored by a big corporation or local businesses. Picture Butte had money donated by Cor Van Raay which helped immensely with costs. Hopefully if an indoor pool was to be built, the pool is well used and doesn't run into issues like Lethbridge has with shutdowns from contaminations and currently the pandemic. Don't forget the upkeep of these facilities in 10 years from now and any regulated requirements imposed by provincially mandated health standards that are updated every few years that require even more money for those updates. As for the civic square I will need to look at more information in order to be more informed before I can comment.
  • Coaldale really needs to think about moving into the future and not staying stuck in the 40’s. Time to modernize and promote our town as an exciting enterprize that people would love to come and visit or move to!
  • My biggest concern is what town council is trying to make Coaldale. We are not Lethbridge; we are not a big city so they need to stop trying to make us big. The improvements to main street i think are a waste of time. How many businesses have come and gone in Coaldale? Exactly why i do not see anyone renting the new town office building either. We are too close to Lethbridge for any of these "improvements" to make sense. Fix what we have: roads, drainage and update/invest in things for our youth please! The pool we have is not going to function for long and its a terrible family pool anyways. Horrible for kids under 7. Lets update it!
  • Why is the c.a.o is making $200+ per year for a town of about 8000? How about cut his wage and lower taxes. Absolutely ridiculous!
  • I don’t like all the crime going on, or how things seem to be decided without citizens input..........
  • This Town is very top heavy. This Town is trying to run before it has fully learned how to walk. Way to many big projects trying to get done at the same time. I can get behind the idea of buying/investing when things are low and it makes better financial sense but there needs to be a better, more conservative balance of new projects and upgrades to existing roads, facilities & adequate front line staff employed by the Town to provide the level of service that contractors simply never will. This is what I feel is the wish of the majority of residents as well. Town Council needs to be pushing their own agenda & priorities not those of administration staff who are looking out for their own best interests before the Town's. We didn't need a new firehall and a new ladder truck and we don't need a new town office.
  • Please reduce this terrible spending in the community that will only benefit the few. People don't want to see their taxes go up more and more each year to pay for someones pipe dream. People need to be held accountable for these spending habits. They need to answer to the community that has been flipping the bill..... Thank you. That is all.
